A Valediction Forbidding Mourning – A celebration of things to come

Tis almost a year and almost all done,

Paths we have taken diverged from just one.

Shattered and broken, now mending anew,

Farewells and goodbyes I seek not of you.

Instead, perhaps, or possibly, maybe?

A new definition of you and for me?

The foundation’s laid, the past has been poured,

for what started as two grew into four.

I’m bound in His love and bathed in His grace,

instead of the past I seek but His face.

With His help and His word, peace I have sought,

Makes this valediction in mourning of naught!

Friendship for now and forever will be,

Tis not a farewell, at least not for me.

As God’s a maker of beauty design,

Plans for the future He has me in mind.
