From the Inside Out

“Thus says the Lord who made the earth, the Lord who formed it to establish it— the Lord is his name: Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known. (Jeremiah 33:2, 3 ESV)

I believe the trials of life refine us. So many times when life seems as though my path is unstable and I have become blinded – my heart is unfocused and I get scared and defensive. I point fingers, I allow guilt to take hold and I wallow in what could or should have been. I feel lost and because of failure, life will never be as it should. My focused becomes of this world and guilt lays claim robbing me of life. Guilt is not of God. A confessed heart, healthy and God healed from the past allows for hope. My hope is not of things or people in this world. My hope is in the One who created me and the world in which I live. His authority is great and all powerful. It is because of Him and Him alone that I can have hope when my world crashes.

I will call on Him and He will answer. He will lead me and restore what was broken. In him I have hope and I will trust that he will provide. To do so I must allow necessary endings for new beginnings – a new definition of me. That is my best defence to the challenges of this world and the ugliness it threatens on those we love.

I need direction on a path I know not of the future. I will call on His name and trust in Him alone and my fear will subside.
